Coffee any one?
A florida based companyy my favorite place for years ....:www.ccmcoffee.com/index.php
great prices and excellent quality on green coffee.....all of their coffee is top quality......my wife likes their plain ole pre ground espresso it's called "cafe riquismo" comes in 8.8Lb vacuum packed bricks that hold up very well to long term storage in the pantry (6 months or so) . I always buy the cases . I have burr grinders ,auto espresso machines and every kind of french press, vacuum pot and other method you can think of ....but she just pours the preground in a cone I made from stainless with a paper filter and makes herself a cup every morning.....she has simple tastes, I can't fault her she's a great gal. I roast my own (not always) and do know a good cup ,but I'm telling you these pre ground vacuum packed bricks taste very good and hold up very well . I use their original whole been espresso roast in my DeLonghi |
Re: Coffee any one?
My Nephew works at a coffee shop called "The Coffee Bean", In Redondo Beach, Ca. They have all different kinds of coffee in those vacuum bags as well. When you first open one of those, The aroma is like Heaven! I love good coffee, but refuse to pay that much on a regular basis. Maybe I should though, a can of Folgers is 9 bucks now at Costco!

Re: Coffee any one?
For the regular J6P among us, I've been buying the 34oz Maxwell House French roast at Wally World for about $5 for the last month or so.
They have been running an extended sale on it. Anywhere from $4.97 to $5.78, it seems to change every week but it is a good deal. |
Re: Coffee any one?
Call me Chrissy but I love chocolate coffee. I used to get it at the local Wawa but they discontinued it. A buck an ounce so it was a blessing in disguise. I found this place California Coffee Roasters online. Now paying $35 delivered for a 5 pound bag. So I'm good with that.

Re: Coffee any one?
The wife and I are Starbucks fans, but have been buying "Medaglia D'Oro Cafe Espresso" at WalMart. Espresso fine-grind in the 11 ounce can for $3.57...works great.

Re: Coffee any one?
WOW small world! I've been drinking their Espresso Roast for at least 25 years. When I lived in Tampa I would stop by their roaster in Drew Park, now they ship it to me 5lbs at a time. Mmmm Mmmm Goood!

I knew you had good taste.....hows it go with squirell gravy and bisquits for breakfast J/k My dad is from Missuori during the 30s, he's always told me the red tree squirrels are the best. Your right Mtnman, they're highly regarded amongst home roasters as well. Another place well regarded amongst roasters on the west coast is sweetmarias, they sell tastey roasted coffee as well.....http://www.sweetmarias.com/ |
Re: Coffee any one?
I usually order from sweetmaria's, but the prices at ccmcoffee look to be about 1/2 the amount. Is there coffee as good as sweetmaria's?

Re: Coffee any one?
Sounds like most of you drink some real high priced brew. Me, I bought the 39 oz plastic cans of Folgers for $3.99 on sale, and recently added some more on sale at $4.99.
I wish I could just get some seeds and grow my own. |
Re: Coffee any one?
I packed packed 25 lbs of green coffee beans along side beans , rice and wheat berries...
Green coffee keeps well up to three years in a burlap sack so packed in a mylar bag with oxygen absorbers I think it would store at least double that time. |

Re: Coffee any one?
Maybe this is a poor reflection on me, or maybe on the state of the world, but if TEOTWAKI ever comes, a truly great cup of coffee is one of the things that I'll miss most.

Re: Coffee any one?
Ah, Starbucks, where they search the world for the finest coffees so they can scorch them for Americans.
The taste of coffee? Maybe in the same way that freeze-dried Sanka tastes like coffee! Or how canned tuna tastes like fresh ahi. There may come a day when I drool at the thought of canned tuna or Sanka, but I pray it isn't soon. Thrifty Bob, I've seen ads for coffee plants. You'll have to Scroogle it. I do know that what they're offering are the robusta variety, which is hardier, but not as tasty as arabica. Robusta also has more caffeine--not that you're likely to get much coffee out of 1 small plant. |
